The Andis are a sub-ethnos of the Avars which historically was considered to be a separate people. The ethnonym is formed from the name of the largest of the villages populated by the representatives of this people, the Andi village (the Botlikh region of Dagestan).
Language
The Andis speak the Andi language, which has two dialects: the Upper Andi and the Lower Andi. The Avar language and the Russian language are also widespread among the Andis.
Dispersion
They live in the western Dagestan.
