Dungans (self-designation Hui) is the Turkic name of the Chinese Hui people, close to the Han Chinese.
They speak the Dungan language (the Chinese branch of the Sino-Tibetan family). The Kyrgyz and Kazakh languages are also widespread.
The largest number of the Dungans lives in the Saratov region, the Altai territory, the Penza region, Moscow, the Lipetsk region.
