British people are the people that constitute
the main population of Britain and the Channel Islands.

Dwellings
Today 90% of them live in the cities. Country settlements are of two types: villages in
the east and hamlets or farms in the west. The roofs of the houses are usually
high, gabled and steep, made from tiles or slates. The houses are frame
constructions, from stone, from pebbles, from lime slabs, a later type of
houses is built from bricks. Typical features are low-rise construction and
vertical placement of apartments (on two storeys).
Clothes
The national English costume
was formed in the 18th century. Its main features are severity and simplicity
of lines, subdued and quiet colors. The type of the English costume influenced
the development of the male European costume in general. Today sports-style
clothes are popular. Medieval elements are preserved in the clothes of judges,
guards soldiers, students, members of parliament.
Food
The typical food is meat-based
(roast beef, beefsteak, bacon), there are also fish dishes. Also popular are
puddings (they can be made from different products) and porridge.
