The Archi people are one of the Lezgin-speaking
peoples or an ethnic group of the Avar people. They are a part of the
indigenous population of Dagestan.
Language
They speak the Archin language which belongs to
the Lezgin branch of the Nakh-Dagestani group of the Northern Caucasus language
family. The Avar and Lak languages are also widespread among the Archi people.
Dispersion
They live in the basin of the Khatar river, in the villages Archib, Alchinub, Kubatl, Khilikh, Keserib, Khitab, Kalib of the
Charoda district of Dagestan.
