Ivanovo
Ivanovo is the administrative center of the Ivanovo region. During the Great Patriotic War, Ivanovo textile workers supplied the country with about 90% of the total amount of textile. The factories of the city produced cotton wool, gauze, fabrics for military uniforms, uniforms and underwear, camouflage gowns were sewn here. Sailcloth for covering the wings of aircraft and parachutes was produced in Ivanovo. Machine-building plants switched to the production of aerial bombs, mines, grenades, chemists produced explosives. The local woodworking plant made equipment for the ski battalions, and trucks for the army and the national economy were put in order in the shops of the auto repair plant. All this made it possible to sharply raise the output of the military products.
