Saratov is the administrative center of the Saratov region. Despite the difficult working conditions during the Great Patriotic War, the inhabitants of Saratov provided the front with industrial products. The planes produced at the aircraft factory bombed the German invaders. The city supplied the front with anti-tank rifles and ammunition, fuel, clothing and food.
