Tomsk
Tomsk is the administrative center of the Tomsk region. A month after the war beginning, the bakery launched the production of "special-purpose crackers", a dairy plant began producing casein, a pencil board factory - containers for canned food and ammunition, battery veneer, a sewing workshop - sweatshirts, soldiers' underwear. The match factory produced an incendiary mixture for fighting tanks, popularly called the "Molotov’s cocktail", and the confectionery factory produced food concentrates. Enterprises of the local and cooperative industry switched to the production of so-called special products: the manufacture of skis, drags, reels, rifle blanks, and repair of sheepskin coats. By the end of 1941, the city received three dozen evacuated industrial enterprises, 15 institutions, 16 research institutes and educational institutions.
