Ulyanovsk
Ulyanovsk is the administrative center of the Ulyanovsk region. During the Great Patriotic War, the industrial output in Ulyanovsk increased six times. This became possible due to increase in production at the existing pre-war enterprises, due to the construction of new ones and the commissioning of factories evacuated from the west. So, Ulyanovsk has become one of the locations of the automobile plant named after Stalin, on the basis of which 7260 ZIS-5 vehicles were produced, and the plant named after Volodarsky produced more than 5 billion cartridges of various types (every third cartridge released during the war years). At the enterprises of Ulyanovsk, 300 thousand aircraft devices were manufactured, and more than 4 million overcoats were sewn at garment factories.
