Ufa
Ufa is one of the largest cities in Russia, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. During the Great Patriotic War, Ufa became one of the country's industrial centers: 60 industrial enterprises operated in the city. The Ufa Engine-Building Plant produced more than 51 thousand aircraft engines, which were installed on every third Soviet aircraft. The Ufa oil refinery supplied the front with over 1 million tons of fuel. Light industry enterprises sewed uniforms for soldiers. More than 60 thousand residents of Ufa were awarded the medal for "Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War".
