“Sabetta” International Airport, located far beyond the Arctic Circle on the eastern coast of the Yamal Peninsula on the coast of the Gulf of Ob, was built to support the Yamal LNG project (production, liquefaction of the natural gas and its supply) and opened in 2014. The airport complex includes the airfield that meets the requirements of ICAO Category I, the runway in size, the hangar for the aircraft, air terminal with a capacity of 200 passengers per hour, including the international sector for 50 passengers per hour.
