Kirov
Kirov is the administrative center of the Kirov region. During the Great Patriotic War, this city became one of the weapons and ammunition production centers for the Soviet Army. “Kirovsky Metallist” plant began producing 50mm mortars and mines. Aggregate Plant No. 461 produced hulls for F-1 grenades. “Fizpribor” plant - RGD-33 hand grenades and RPG-40 anti-tank grenades. By the end of 1941, Kirov region received over 70 plants and factories, 25 institutions and organizations evacuated from the centers of hostilities. In June 1943, plant No. 324 of the People's Commissariat of Ammunition was put into operation, which made shells, high-explosive fragmentation grenades and aerial bombs.
