Kolomna
Kolomna is the city in the Moscow region of Russia. After the begining of the Great Patriotic War, all enterprises of the city, which had machine tool equipment, set up the production of shells for various types of guns. Design Bureau under the leadership of B.Shavyrin was created in Kolomna; mortars for the Soviet Army were designed there. Here in 1943 P. Goryunov, resident of Kolomna invented the famous SG-43 heavy machine gun, which was used not only during the war years, but also for 20 years after its end.
