Komsomolsk-on-Amur
Komsomolsk-on-Amur is a city in the Khabarovsk Territory of Russia. During the Great Patriotic War, the Aviation Plant No. 126 of the People's Commissariat of the Aviation Industry and Shipbuilding Plant No. 199 of the People's Commissariat of the Shipbuilding Industry were the largest enterprises of the city's defense industry. During four war years, city residents built and repaired 28 warships, produced 2,757 combat aircraft, erected four new plants (oil refinery, battery, metallurgical, “Amurlitmash”), supplied steel, oil products, batteries, ammunition and other military products for the front.
