Magadan
Magadan is the city port, the administrative center of the Magadan region. During the Great Patriotic War, the entire industry of the city worked for the needs of the front. Despite the lack of people and equipment, women, children and the elderly set up the work of the industrial plant and several factories: mechanical, auto repair and glass. From 1941 to 1945 Magadan geologists mined 19 thousand tons of tin concentrate and 360 tons of gold, which was used for the purchase of weapons and the production of military equipment for the Soviet Army.
