Severodvinsk
Severodvinsk (until 1957 - Molotovsk) is the city in the Arkhangelsk region of Russia. During the Great Patriotic War, Molotovsk and the entire Arkhangelsk region became the place of mass evacuation of people from all over the North-West of the country - the region received more than 100 thousand people. Hundreds of enterprises also moved their production here. Local ship repair enterprises re-equipped civil ships for military purposes, repaired warships and submarines. Sawmills in Molotovsk carried out the urgent orders for the manufacture of skis, sleds, airfield and engineering equipment. During the war years sawmills gave to the front over 3200 thousand cubic meters of lumber, 15 million sets of special containers, almost 20 thousand drag sleds and much more.
