Cheboksary
Cheboksary is the capital of the Chuvash Republic. In the first months of the Great Patriotic War, equipment from plants and factories from the front-line regions of the country began to arrive in the city. In the extremely short time, the Kharkov Electromechanical Plant and the Leningrad Plant "Electric" started working in the new location. The Cheboksary Electrical Apparatus Plant created on their basis began to produce products for tanks and aircrafts. Mass production of shells and mines was established at the ammunition plant (Plant named after Chapaev). Hosiery, ribbon-weaving, cotton factories for the needs of the front also worked in the city.
