Aldan
Aldan is the city in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Aldan gold miners mined and handed over to the state 15 652 kg of gold for the period from 1941 to 1945. In addition to gold, silver and rock crystal were mined in the Aldan region. In 1944, the crystal production was 25% of the total production of crystal in the Soviet Union. During the period of 1942-1945, workers of the Aldan mica industry extracted 8699 tons of raw mica, produced 772.5 tons of crushed mica and 3431 tons of disassembled mica, which was 80% of the mica produced in the Soviet Union during this period. Mica and rock crystal were used in the defense industry. During the Great Patriotic War, Yakutzoloto Trust (Aldan) was awarded and left for eternal storage the Red Banner of the State Defense Committee of the USSR, which is now located in the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia.
