Syzran
Syzran is the city in the Samara region. During the Great Patriotic War, 11 large enterprises were evacuated to Syzran. Production was set up in record time — already at the beginning of December 1941, at the height of the Battle for Moscow, Syzran sent the batch of ammunition to the front — 35 thousand mines. Syzran oil industry played the key role in supplying the front with fuel. On July 22, 1942, the first tanks-trucks with gasoline produced in Syzran were sent to the Stalingrad Front. More than 17 thousand Syzran citizens were awarded the state awards for valiant labor during the war.
