On March 1, 2020, the President of Russia V. V. Putin signed the law “On the honorary title of the Russian Federation «City of Labor Valor””. In accordance with this law, the honorary title is awarded to cities whose residents made a significant contribution to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring the uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises located in the cities, and at the same time showed massive labor heroism and dedication.
On June 2, 2020, after the discussion at the meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee "Victory", by presidential decree, the honorary title "City of Labor Valor" was awarded to twenty cities: Borovichi, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo, Izhevsk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Magnitogorsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Tagil, Novokuznetsk , Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Samara, Saratov, Tomsk, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Yaroslavl.
On May 20, 2021, the honorary title "City of Labor Valor" was awarded to the cities of Barnaul, Kamensk-Uralsky, Kirov, Kolomna, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Krasnoyarsk, Magadan, Penza, Rybinsk, Severodvinsk, Tyumen, Cheboksary.
On September 10, 2021, the title "City of Labor Valor" was awarded to twelve cities of the Russian Federation: Aldan, Bologoye, Vorkuta, Dzerzhinsk, Kemerovo, Kostroma, Lysva, Monchegorsk, Okha, Stupin, Syzran and Chita.
