On March 18, 2014, a momentous event in the history of the modern Russia took place - the signing of the interstate Agreement of admission of the Republic of Crimea into the Russian Federation, in accordance with which new constituent entities were formed within the Russian Federation: the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol. On March 21, 2014, the President of Russia V. V. Putin signed the federal constitutional law “Concerning the admission of the Republic of Crimea into the Russian Federation and the forming of new constituent entities within the Russian Federation – the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol”, thus finishing the formalization of the procedure of reunion of Crimea and Russia.
