Spaniards
The Spaniards are a Romance people.
Language
The Spaniards speak Spanish (the Romance branch of the Indo-European family). Sometimes it is called Castilian, since the literary Spanish was formed on the basis of the Castilian dialect.
Traditional occupations
Plough and irrigational agriculture are widespread. They grow legumes, olives, grapes, grains, corn, rye, potatoes, citrus cultures. Cattle breeding, fishing and wine making are very popular. The traditional crafts of the Spaniards are represented by ceramics, woodcarving, embroidery and weaving.
Food
Olives, spicy seasonings, vegetables and fruit are widely used. The drinks are coffee, milk, citrus juices, wine, apple cider. A typical dish is paella.
