Russia is in the lead by crude oil output and accounts for 12% of the world oil trade. The country ranks the first in the world by natural gas reserves (23% of the global reserves) and by its annual output accounting for 25% of the international trade for this energy material and dominates both in the European gas market and in the market of the CIS countries. Russia holds the second position in the world by coal stock (19% of the global reserves), the fifth position by its annual output (5% of the global production) and accounts for 12% of the international trade for power-generating coal. The Russian nuclear power generation industry constitutes 5% of the global nuclear power generation market, 45% of the global uranium enrichment market, 15% of the global spent fuel conversion market and accounts for 8% of the international production of natural uranium.
