Certain success was achieved in the food industry development in the past year of 2015. The share of import was decreasing rapidly. Cheese production reached record-breaking parameters; meat industry was developing at a swift rate particularly concerning chicken and pork processing (beef production is slightly behind). For example in Ryazan region the production of animal and poultry meat was increased by 11% and in Pskov region the production of poultry meat grew by 7.5 times. The share of flour and cereal import was reduced almost to zero. Reliance on import in the powdered milk and cream market has not yet been successfully eliminated. On the other hand production of vegetable oils is developing at a modest pace. However it is still no match to a leap like animal oil import substitution.
