One of the main trends in modern life is digitalization - the introduction of digital technologies in different areas of life to improve its quality and economic development. It helps to carry out routine tasks and make decisions without human intervention.
According to the national project “Digital Economy”, which should be implemented before 2024, the main objectives of digitalization of the economy are:
—Creation of a digital data transmission infrastructure based on domestic developments;
—Providing highly qualified personnel to work in the digital economy;
—Provision of information security on the basis of domestic developments in the transmission, processing, storage of data, a guarantee of the protection of citizens' interests;
—Creation of “end-to-end technologies” based on domestic developments. These include neurotechnologies, artificial intelligence, distributed registry systems (blockchain), quantum technologies, new manufacturing technologies, the industrial Internet, robotics, sensorics, wireless communications, virtual and augmented reality, as well as systems for working with “big data”;
—Introduction of digital technologies in the process of rendering public services to the population, as well as in conducting control and supervisory activities.
As of 2020, almost half of Russians turn to digital services at least once a week. According to this indicator, Russia ranks ninth in the world and is second only to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Argentina, Morocco, Malaysia and China.
